QUESTÃO DE ORDEM | POINT OF ORDER
as obras do grupo pretendem explorar a desorientação latente que há no espaço urbano a partir de sensações e significados espaciais associados à relação entre os aspectos bidimensionais e tridimensionais da sinalização de trânsito, elementos participantes na ordenação dos deslocamentos. estes objetos manifestam-se na paisagem urbana e rural; no nível prático e funcional servem como índices de organização do espaço, permitindo ou negando a passagem, o cruzamento, o desvio, o acesso ao graal, por meio de seus códigos e símbolos gráficos.
nesta série, no entanto, não se está buscando explorar a composição gráfica e as imagens simbólicas dos outdoors, mas a presença física de suas estruturas, a constituição material da imagem. pretende-se explorar sensações e significados espaciais associados a estrutura, peso, rigidez, brilho, cor, posição, densidade, forma, função. a articulação dos materiais e as técnicas empregadas enfatizam tais características, a partir do desenho resultante do processo de construção do objeto. nesse sentido, a aparência dos trabalhos não é apenas o posicionamento de elementos em um suporte, mas imagem e estrutura simultaneamente.
the group intends to explore the latent disorientation that exists in the urban space from the spatial sensations and meanings associated with the relationship between the two-dimensional and three-dimensional aspects of traffic signs, elements that participate in the ordering of displacements. these objects are manifested in the urban and rural landscape; at the practical and functional level, they serve as indexes of organization of space, allowing or denying passage, crossing, diversion, access, and path, through their codes and graphic symbols.
in this series, however, the aim is not to explore the graphic composition and symbolic images of billboards, but the physical presence of their structures, the material constitution of the image. it is intended to explore sensations and spatial meanings associated with structure, weight, rigidity, brightness, color, position, density, shape, function. the articulation of the materials and the techniques employed emphasize these characteristics, based on the design resulting from the object’s construction process. in this sense, the appearance of the works s not only the positioning of elements on a support, but the image and structure simultaneously.
